Jim Arnold
Assistant Chief Pilot
Jim Arnold serves as Assistant Chief Pilot and Captain at Pinnacle Aviation, where he flies the Challenger 300. He is responsible for supporting pilot training, operational readiness, and the continued pursuit of safety and excellence throughout the flight department.
Before transitioning to professional aviation, Jim spent more than 23 years as an electrical and computer engineer and senior engineering manager with a Fortune 500 semiconductor company, where he earned five U.S. patents in microprocessor design. His engineering background continues to provide a unique perspective on process improvement, operational efficiency, and technology innovation.
After earning his Private Pilot Certificate through UND Aerospace, Jim completed his advanced flight certifications while working full time before beginning his professional flying career with Mesa Airlines. He later returned to UND Aerospace as Assistant Chief Instructor, overseeing commercial and turbine flight operations.
Jim combines technical expertise, proven leadership, and a lifelong passion for aviation to help ensure Pinnacle Aviation delivers the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and client service.
